There is a wide variety of cafes nowadays: Maid, Cosplay, Trap and so on. Bandai is opening a GUNDAM Cafe in Akihabara, right outside the Railway station on 24 April.

Yaoi: Erotic male-male relationships

Yaoi came to be used as a generic term for female-oriented manga featuring idealized homosexual male relationships. This should be distinguished from bara, including “gay manga”, which are created by and for gay men.

Whether yaoi foster an aesthetic of purity, even when depicting hard-core sex acts or offer an escapist fantasy, it has certainly gained a loyal fan base. Drama is heightened, showing yaoi characters overcoming internal struggles to be together.
